EICR

Need an Electrical Installation Condition Report?  JRC Electrical Services are here to help.

What Is An EICR?

An EICR is an Electrical Installation Condition Report.  It is a formal document that is produced following an assessment of the electrical installation within the property.

Do I Need An EICR?

There are currently no legal requirements to have an EICR, however there are many reasons why you may want to have one.  As an Employer you have a responsibility for the safety of all persons within your premises, as a landlord you have a responsibility to provide an electrically safe property to your tenants, if you are a homeowner you want to ensure that you and your family are safe.

What Tests are Completed?

During an EICR, the consumer unit, wiring and electrical accessories are thoroughly tested and inspected for faults, deterioration and deviations from the wiring regulations. The following items also form part of the report

  • The adequacy of the earthing and bonding.
  • Devices for protection against fire and electric shock.
  • Any damage or wear and tear that might affect the safety of the properties inhabitants.
  • Identification of any damaged electrical fittings and accessories.
  • Identification of any exposed live wires that could cause a fire or injury.
